Accommodations

We stayed at the Marriott’s Marbella Beach Resort and this was the best decision we ever made.  We stayed 8 in a 3-bedroom villa and it was gorgeous, and perfect, and had 3 bathrooms, a fully-stocked modern kitchen, a dining room, and 2 terraces.  You give them your credit card and then just charge everything to your room so everything is just easy and the pool is gorgeous and has an amazing pool and adorable comfy pod things to lay on.  Stay here. It was also 25euro a night.

WARNING: when booking a villa they refer to it as “a room” and it is kind of confusing, so maybe call or e-mail them to make sure you did it right.  I did not.  I booked 3 3-bedroom villas instead of 1 3-bedroom villas.  Oops.

Food

The food in the hotel was really good.

By the main pool they have a restaurant called Chill Bar where we got amazing chicken lettuce wraps and drinks.  The lettuce wraps came with the most amazing sweet spicy asian sauce that I ate straight with a spoon.

They also had another restaurant near the main clubhouse called Charlies where they had amazing fajitas and these asian chicken noodle dishes.  equally amazing.

We went into town for dinner the other nights.  I actually don’t remember which “town” we went into, but one was significantly more fun than the other.  I’m pretty sure the good one was Puerto Banus.  We ate at Red Pepper, which was a Greek place in the better town and while we didn’t love the restaurant there (debatably where Marissa got food poisoning) but were a million good ones in the area.  The night life here was good.

Things to Do

I mean…..  Pretty much pool pool pool pool pool. Beach. Pool. Pods. Beach. Pool.

We also went to Gibraltar which is a nearby English territory.  It was actually amazing.  Very interesting history, but the coolest part is that they have WILD MONKEY which just jump all over you!  Definitely pay the 25 euro when you cross the border (yea, you’ll need your passport) to get a cab driver to take you on a tour to all the hotspots.  He’ll also bring peanuts for the monkeys and he’ll know how to deal with them because they ARE wild.  They bite.  But they’re also adorable and play on our heads.  We took a cab there, but the hotel also had tours.  MAKE SURE IF YOU TAKE A CAB ARRANGE FOR IT TO PICK YOU UP.  YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET STUCK THERE.
